Okaaaay, I see you Pitaya Plus ...and my obsession is officially, official.

Did you know pitaya {aka a species of dragon fruit} is FULL of amazing health benefits?! As I move through my first bikini prep I’m trying to be 100% me, which means whole foods all the way, so in looking for a way to boost my magnesium intake I searched high and low for Pitaya Plus and thankfully snagged some at my local Organic Market in Mashpee. 

Aside from magnesium, dragon fruit is high in fiber, rich in antioxidants and good source of iron...so yea, sign me up. Here’s what I blended, post-spin class:

Pitaya Banana Berry Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pitaya Plus frozen dragon fruit smoothie pack
  • 100g frozen banana {pro tip: buy extra bananas each week, peel, slice and freeze!}
  • 70g frozen papaya
  • 2 tbsp Philosophie raw, gluten-free, plant based Berry Bliss superfood protein powder
  • 2oz coconut milk {I used VitaCoco, which I found in the milk section of my grocery store}

Blend all ingredients on high until super creamy. Add more liquid until you reach your desired consistency; but personally 2oz of coconut milk was just enough for me and gave me a soft-serve creamy texture!

Top with all your faves! I opted for Trader Joe's Toasted Coconut Granola, hemp hearts and chopped Brazil nuts. for some healthy fats.
